The Global Citizenship Education tool aims to raise awareness among students in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation about global solidarity issues and to strengthen their skills and critical thinking abilities through international mobility experiences.
Objective
This instrument aims to raise awareness among students in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (FWB) of global solidarity issues and to strengthen their skills and critical thinking abilities through international mobility experiences.
Target audience
The target audience varies depending on the instrument:
- For Travel Scholarships: students from higher education institutions (HEIs) in the FWB who wish to write a thesis, a final year project or undertake an internship in a grant partner country;
- For Student Microprojects: two groups of students: those regularly enrolled in an HEI in the FWB, and those enrolled in an HEI in a scholarship partner country;
- For Student Mobilisation Projects: students, accompanied by a supervising professor, who wish to set up awareness-raising activities on their campus;
- For training, mentoring, and networking activities: travel grant recipients and microprojects. The meeting and networking activities are largely aimed at students involved in all ARES programs.
Duration
- Travel Scholarships: 30 days
- Student Microprojects: 1 year max
- Student Mobilisation Projects: 1 year max
Funding
- Travel Scholarships: flat-rate airfare + monthly allowance
- Student Microprojects: max €20,000
- Student Mobilisation Projects: max €4,500
